- Merino wool is naturally antibacterial, which reduces the need for frequent washing. To freshen up your mittens, simply air them out—preferably in damp weather. If washing is needed, we recommend machine washing on a wool cycle at 30 °C without fabric softener. Do not tumble dry or use bleach. Reshape the hat while damp and let it dry flat.
