Baby Blanket Laponia 65x95
A soft baby blanket in lambswool inspired by Laponia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Swedish Lapland. The design draws on elements from traditional Sámi bands, their colours, reindeer and the snow-covered landscape.
Laponia is a vast cultural landscape with traces of settlement and reindeer herding dating back thousands of years. It is home to nine Sámi communities, where reindeer herding is still an important way of life. The blanket carries inspiration from this landscape and its traditions.
The blanket is woven from 100% organic lambswool, which keeps you warm even when slightly damp while allowing the body to breathe naturally. The wool comes from growers licensed under Wool Integrity NZ™, meaning the sheep are well treated and mulesing is not practised.
The blanket is also OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and tested for harmful substances. A thoughtful gift for a newborn and a much appreciated christening gift. A blanket to use often and keep for years.
- Wool has natural dirt-repelling properties and, therefore, does not need to be washed as frequently. Hang the plaid out and air it on a day when the weather is damp. Machine wash at 30 degrees using the wool program. Wash separately. Iron at a medium temperature. Do not tumble dry. Do not use bleach.
