Dalafloda

Dalafloda draws its inspiration from the vibrant textile tradition of Dala-Floda in the region of Dalarna. The pattern is based on the richly embroidered floral motifs that adorn the jacket of the traditional folk costume. The embroidery technique known as påsöm brings the bright wool yarns and blooming forms to life.

This embroidery is more than decoration. It tells a story of place, time, and craftsmanship. Preserved in Skansen’s costume archive, the pattern now finds new expression in textiles such as cushion covers and tablecloths. Dalafloda carries the handmade legacy of the 19th century and lets it continue to flourish in today’s interiors.
