- Merino wool is naturally antibacterial, which reduces the need for frequent washing. To freshen up your mittens, simply airing them out is usually enough – preferably in humid weather. If washing is needed, use the wool cycle at 30 °C without fabric softener. Do not tumble dry or use bleach. Reshape the mittens while damp and let them dry flat.
