Recrafted Cushion Cover Roses 50x50 cm
Cushion cover made from reclaimed textiles from Skansen’s Wardrobe Department. The front features a woven floral pattern with red roses and green leaves. The motif connects to the stylised roses and floral prints found in 18th- and 19th-century textiles. Decorative fringe runs along the edge, framing the design. The back is made from a striped fabric in light blue and white, giving the cushion a calmer expression. The combination of florals and stripes creates a lively meeting between different textile traditions.
Each cushion cover is sewn by hand on site at Skansen and is one of a kind. Inner cushion not included.
Beautiful textiles and fabric remnants from Skansen are given new life in Recrafted, a collection of handmade cushion covers. Materials from the Wardrobe Department’s stores are carefully combined by the seamstresses to create unique pieces. Textiles from different time periods meet in a circular approach where older materials are given a new context. A piece of Skansen’s history in a contemporary and sustainable form.
