Hand-painted wooden Dala horse from Nusnäs in Dalarna, Sweden. The Dala horse is one of Sweden’s most well-known symbols and has been made by Nils Olsson since 1928. In the same village where the classic Dala horse first took shape, the craft lives on, with each horse still carved and painted by hand.
This means that no two horses are exactly alike. Small variations in colour and pattern are a natural part of the process and give each piece its own expression. With its 16 cm size, the red Dala horse has a clearer presence and more character. A size that works well as a standalone decorative piece or as part of a larger collection.
