Lövånger
Lövånger is a collection inspired by a jacket from the traditional folk costume of Lövånger, featuring a blue base with stripes in yellow, black, red, and white. The jacket, also known as a tvärärmatröja (“cross-sleeved sweater”) due to its horizontal striped sleeves, is an example of northern Swedish textile craftsmanship from the 1920s. The preserved jacket in Skansen’s collections represents the small village of Lövånger in Västerbotten and bears witness to the region’s craft heritage.
Here, tradition and the present meet in everyday textiles such as cushion covers, table runners, bags, and toiletry cases. An expression rooted in history, reinterpreted to live on in today’s homes.
