Skultuna

Founded by King Karl IX in 1607, Skultuna is one of the oldest active companies in the world. With over 400 years of brass craftsmanship, Skultuna has become synonymous with timeless design, quality, and durability – values that have earned the company a Royal Warrant and a place within the Scandinavian design tradition.

Since its founding, the brass foundry has remained in the same location in Västmanland, Sweden. Master founders from Germany and the Netherlands arrived early on, and the oldest preserved chandelier from Skultuna dates back to 1619. Over the centuries, the foundry has survived fires and spring floods – continuing its production in an unbroken tradition.

Skultuna has played a significant role in Swedish design history and still combines classical craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. The products are sold worldwide and can be found in both private homes and public spaces.

Production still takes place at the original foundry, where steps like grinding, polishing, and engraving are done by hand. The result is objects that carry both history and a refined sense of form – treasured as gifts, everyday items, and heirlooms, made to last for generations.
